About Pancratium sickenbergeri Asch. & Schweinf.
Pancratium sickenbergeri Asch. & Schweinf. is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Amaryllidaceae family. It is a Saharo-Arabian plant that grows in desert habitats, including the Negev desert. This species is native to Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Syria. Its flowers resemble those of the Mediterranean species Pancratium maritimum, but P. sickenbergeri has curly leaves and an overall smaller size. Unlike most desert plants, its seeds are dispersed by winter floodwaters when these events occur.
