Palpita illibalis, commonly called the inkblot palpita moth, is a moth species that belongs to the Crambidae family. This species was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1818. It is native to North America, and has been specifically recorded from the U.S. states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. The wingspan of adult inkblot palpita moths measures around 25 millimeters. Adult moths have been observed in flight from March through October, with the vast majority of sightings falling between June and August. The caterpillars of this moth are documented to feed on the leaves of the white fringetree, a member of the Oleaceae plant family.
