About Palafoxia integrifolia (Nutt.) Torr. & A.Gray
Palafoxia integrifolia (Nutt.) Torr. & A.Gray is a herbaceous annual plant that produces pinkish-white disc flowers arranged in inflorescences. Its leaves are glossy and grow in an alternating pattern; leaves are more elongated on the lower portion of the stems, and more linear towards the top of the stems. The stems of this species are less woody than those of other Palafoxia species, which makes P. integrifolia prone to drooping. This plant is found only in the U.S. states of Georgia and Florida, where it grows in sandy upland habitats. Like all other Palafoxia species, P. integrifolia attracts birds and insects, which assist in its pollination.
