Paidia rica is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. It was first described by Christian Friedrich Freyer in 1858. This species is distributed across southern and central Europe. The wingspan of adult Paidia rica ranges from 28 to 33 millimeters. Adult moths emerge from June to August, with one new generation produced each year. The larvae of Paidia rica feed on algae, including species from the genus Pleurococcus, and lichen.
