About Packera ganderi (T.M.Barkley & Beauch.) W.A.Weber & Á.Löve
Packera ganderi is a perennial herb that grows a single upright stem, reaching a maximum height of 50 to 80 centimeters. Most of the plant is green and covered in hairs, though it can have fuzzy areas and a purple tint. Its leaves have rounded or oval blades with toothed margins or shallow lobes. Leaf blades are often thick and somewhat tough, a few centimeters long, and are carried on petioles longer than the blades themselves. Leaves growing higher on the stem are smaller, and most of these upper leaves do not have petioles. The inflorescence holds up to 6 or 8 flower heads, each lined with phyllaries that have green tips and yellow edges. Each flower head contains many golden yellow disc florets, plus several orange ray florets that are each around one centimeter long.
