Oryba achemenides Cramer, 1779 is a large moth species with a wingspan of 100โ€“120 mm. This species has a heavy body and large eyes. The upper side of its wings is dark green, while the underside is orange. On the upper side of the forewing, the marginal band is much narrower than the distance between this band and the distal margin of the dark olive-green median trapezoidal area. The upper side of the hindwing has no distinct bands. This species is distributed from Central America to the Amazon region. Recorded locations where it can be found include Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Suriname, Venezuela, Brazil, and Bolivia.
