The olive-green tanager, scientifically known as Orthogonys chloricterus (Vieillot, 1819), measures 18 to 19 centimeters (7.1 to 7.5 inches) in length.
Adult Plumage
Adult individuals have olive-green upperparts and dull yellow underparts, with an olive tinge on their sides and flanks.
Geographic Range
This species is found only in southeastern Brazil, ranging from Espírito Santo state south to eastern Santa Catarina and northeastern Rio Grande do Sul.
Habitat and Elevation
It lives in the interior and edges of humid montane forest, at elevations between 900 and 1,800 meters (3,000 to 5,900 feet).
