About Orthetrum luzonicum (Brauer, 1868)

Orthetrum luzonicum is a medium-sized dragonfly. It has a yellowish-white face and blue eyes. Its thorax is yellowish green with some brown stripes. All parts of its wings, including the wing bases, are transparent. Its abdomen is covered in azure blue pruinescence up to the final segments. In older adult individuals, pruinescence also develops on the thorax, covering all of the original brown markings completely. Females and young males of this species are yellowish green. These dragonflies breed in marshes and swampy plain habitats.
