Orthetrum boumiera, formally described by Watson & Arthington in 1978, is a species of freshwater dragonfly belonging to the family Libellulidae. It is endemic to eastern Australia, and its only known habitat is dune lakes there. This species is commonly called the brownwater skimmer. It is a medium-sized dragonfly that is yellow with black markings. When they reach adulthood, males grow a thick, extensive blue pruinescence across their bodies, while females only develop a light, sparse pruinescence.
