About Orocrambus vittellus Doubleday, 1943
Orocrambus vittellus is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. Henry Doubleday first described this species in 1843. It is endemic to New Zealand, where it has been recorded from the North Island, the South Island, and Stewart Island. This moth species lives primarily in grassland habitats. The wingspan of adult Orocrambus vittellus ranges from 19 to 28 millimeters. Adult moths can be found in flight between the months of November and April. The larvae of this species feed on Agrostis tenuis, and they likely also feed on other types of grasses.
