About Orocrambus ramosellus Doubleday, 1843
Orocrambus ramosellus is a moth species belonging to the Crambidae family. Henry Doubleday first described this species in 1843. It is endemic to New Zealand, and has been recorded in both the North and South Islands of the country. This species lives in pasture habitats. The wingspan of adult Orocrambus ramosellus ranges from 23 to 29 mm. Adult moths have been observed in flight between October and July. The larvae of this species feed on a range of grass species: Festuca novaezealandiae, Poa cita (previously known as Poa caespitosa), Agrostis tenuis, Alopercus pratensis, Bromus catharticus, and Poa annua.
