About Ornithogalum pyrenaicum L.
Ornithogalum pyrenaicum, commonly known as Prussian asparagus, wild asparagus, Bath asparagus, Pyrenees star of Bethlehem, or spiked star of Bethlehem, is a plant whose young flower shoots can be eaten as a vegetable, similar to asparagus. Its common name Bath asparagus originated because the species was once abundant near the city of Bath, England. For cultivation history, Cato the Elder recommended growing this wild asparagus in his treatise De agri cultura.
