About Orlaya grandiflora (L.) Hoffm.

Orlaya grandiflora, commonly known as white laceflower, is a flowering plant species belonging to the Apiaceae family. It is native to Mediterranean Europe. This multi-branched annual plant grows up to 90 cm (35 in) tall, producing divided, ferny leaves. It bears flattish panicles of pure white flowers over a long period during summer. The uneven sizes of its individual florets give the flower clusters a lacy appearance, an effect that is particularly noticeable when the species is planted in large swathes. Orlaya grandiflora has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. It grows best in a sunny, well-drained position.
