About Oreothlypis superciliosa (Hartlaub, 1844)

Scientific name: Oreothlypis superciliosa (Hartlaub, 1844)

This species, the crescent-chested warbler, is a small to medium-sized bird with a small head and short tail. It is similar in overall shape and size to the orange-crowned warbler and Nashville warbler (Vermivora ruficapilla). The crescent-chested warbler is typically smaller than the orange-crowned warbler, and has a rounder breast and a longer beak. Its vocalizations are softer than, but deeper and richer than, the similar quiet ship call of the orange-crowned warbler and the similar calls of the bridled titmouse.
