About Oreodera glauca (Linnaeus, 1758)

Oreodera glauca is a species of beetle that belongs to the Cerambycidae family. It is distributed in the Neotropical region. This species was first described by Carl Linnaeus in the landmark 10th edition of Systema Naturae, published in 1758. Before pupation, the larvae of Oreodera glauca bore into the sapwood of their host plants. When at rest, adult beetles hold their antennae pressed flat against their body, creating an appearance where the abdomen looks like the head and the original head resembles the abdomen.
