About Ophisma gravata Guenée, 1852
This species has a wingspan of approximately 60 millimeters. Males do not have large tufts on their legs. Unlike other related species, its hindwings are neither crimson nor orange. The body is pale reddish brown. On the forewings, there is an indistinct, straight, upright medial pale line with a dark inner edge. A slightly curved dark postmedial line and a very obscure sub-marginal line are visible. The cilia have white tips. The hindwings are brownish ochreous, with a submarginal fuscous black band that is very wide at the apex. The larvae of Ophisma gravata feed on Polygonum species.
