Adult Omaloplia ruricola reach a body length between 5.1 and 7.8 mm. Their body and legs are black, and their upper body surface has a slight sheen. Their antennae are yellowish-brown with a dark clubbed tip, though rarely they may be entirely yellowish-brown. The body hairs can be either light or dark in color.
