About Oligomeris linifolia (Vahl ex Hornem.) J.F.Macbr.
Oligomeris linifolia, commonly known as lineleaf whitepuff, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the small plant family Resedaceae. This species is native to multiple regions: parts of the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, southern Europe, North Africa, the southwestern United States, and northern Mexico. It grows in a wide range of habitat types, including disturbed areas, saline soils, deserts, plains, and coastlines, among other locations. It is an annual plant with fleshy tissue, and produces several erect, ribbed stems that reach a maximum height between 35 and 45 centimeters. Its leaves are linear or broadly lance-shaped, narrow, and measure up to 4.5 centimeters long, with a width of only a few millimeters. Flowers of Oligomeris linifolia grow in long, erect spikes. Each individual flower forms a rounded, lobed, pocket-like structure, with 4 curving sepals and usually two whitish petals that may be partially fused together. The fruit produced by this plant is a capsule a few millimeters long, which holds tiny, shiny black seeds.
