About Oligodon taeniolatus (Jerdon, 1853)
Oligodon taeniolatus, first described by Jerdon in 1853, is a nonvenomous snake species. It is commonly called the streaked kukri snake, and is also known by the alternative common name variegated kukri. This species is found across Asia, with confirmed populations in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, southern Turkmenistan, eastern Iran, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. One recognized subspecies is Oligodon taeniolatus fasciatus. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has assessed this species as Least Concern.
