About Oligodon chinensis (Günther, 1888)

The Chinese kukri snake, scientifically named Oligodon chinensis (Günther, 1888), is a species of snake belonging to the family Colubridae. This species occurs in China and Vietnam. Pham et al. (2014) noted that in Vietnam, it is a widespread species, with known populations ranging from Lao Cai and Lang Son in the north, southward to Quang Binh and Gia Lai provinces. Their 2014 publication also includes a morphological description of the species. In Vietnam, the Chinese kukri snake is found on the forest floor, specifically within secondary karst forest habitat.
