Commonly called mountain holly, Olearia ilicifolia Hook.fil. is a much-branching, spreading shrub that can also grow as a small tree. It reaches a height of 1.5โ€“4.6 metres (4 ft 11 in โ€“ 15 ft 1 in). Its leaves measure 5โ€“10 centimetres (2.0โ€“3.9 in) long and 1โ€“2 centimetres (0.39โ€“0.79 in) wide, with undulating, coarsely serrated margins, and are greyish green on the upper surface. The flowers are white with yellow centres, and they grow in large terminal corymbs.
