Oenothera pilosella Raf. is a species of flowering plant in the evening primrose family. It has two common names: midwestern evening primrose and meadow evening primrose. It is native to the United States and eastern Canada. This species is cultivated as an ornamental garden plant. It produces yellow-petaled flowers in late spring and early summer. The species is divided into two subspecies. One subspecies, Oenothera pilosella subsp. sessilis, is a rare herb native to the Mississippi River Valley region of Louisiana and Arkansas.
