About Oenothera flava (A.Nelson) Garrett

Oenothera flava (A.Nelson) Garrett, commonly called the yellow evening primrose (a common name it shares with Oenothera serrulata), is a species of flowering plant in the Onagraceae family. It is native to western Canada excluding British Columbia, the western and central United States, and Mexico excluding southeastern Mexico. It has also been introduced to the former Czechoslovakia. This is an almost stemless perennial plant that grows up to 20 cm (8 inches) tall, and it is typically found in damp locations including prairie swales, open woodlands, and stream banks.
