About Oeneis macounii Edwards, 1885
This species, Oeneis macounii, described by Edwards in 1885, has a wingspan ranging from 46 to 65 mm. Its distribution extends from British Columbia to Quebec in Canada, and south into the United States to Minnesota and Michigan. Its natural habitat includes forest openings in areas of western jack pine or lodgepole pine, as well as rocky ridges within spruce forests.
