Scientific name: Novius koebelei Olliff, 1892. Description: When compared to the better-known species Novius cardinalis, Novius koebelei typically has markings that are much more strongly confluent. This confluence of markings often produces a large continuous red patch on each elytron. There are also variant forms: some individual Novius koebelei are entirely uniform red, while other variants exist as well.
