Notocrypta waigensis (Plötz, 1882), commonly known as the banded demon, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Hesperiidae. Its distribution includes Indonesia (specifically Irian Jaya, the Aru Islands, and the Kei Islands), New Guinea, and Queensland. This species has a wingspan of approximately 40 millimetres, which is equal to 1.6 inches. The larvae of Notocrypta waigensis feed on a variety of species from the plant family Zingiberaceae, including Alpinia caerulea and Hornstedtia scottiana.
