Notoaeschna geminata, described by Theischinger in 1982, is a species of dragonfly belonging to the family Aeshnidae. It is commonly known as the northern riffle darner. This species is endemic to eastern Australia, and it is found only in areas north of the Hunter River in New South Wales. It lives in rapid streams. It is a large dragonfly that ranges in body color from dark brown to black, with distinct yellow markings. It looks very similar to Notoaeschna sagittata, commonly called the southern riffle darner, which occurs in regions south of the Hunter River.
