Notelaea longifolia Vent. is usually a shrub around 3 metres tall, but it occasionally grows into a larger plant up to 9 metres tall, with a trunk diameter of 30 cm. Its trunk is often crooked, and it has a wide, dense crown. The grey-brown bark is hard, scaly, and fissured. Its branchlets are slender, pale brown, and marked with small pale lenticels.
