The rufous-bellied niltava, scientifically named Niltava sundara Hodgson, 1837, is a bird species that belongs to the Muscicapidae family. It can be found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. This species measures 15 to 18 centimeters in length, and weighs between 19 and 24 grams. It is a large, stocky, brightly colored flycatcher, with a rounded head, a fairly short tail, and a broad-based bill.
