About Neurothemis intermedia (Rambur, 1842)

Neurothemis intermedia (Rambur, 1842) is a dragonfly species with the following description and habitat. This dragonfly has a yellowish red body and reddish brown eyes. All of its wings carry a broad basal amber-yellow marking at the wing base. Its abdomen is reddish, marked with a ventro-lateral brownish stripe that is interrupted at the apical end of segments 3 to 8. Young males and females of this species are more yellowish red in color. It is much more common at sea level along coastlines, and becomes rare in hilly areas.
