About Neptis laeta Overlaet, 1955

Neptis laeta, commonly known as the common sailer or albizia sailer, is a species of butterfly in the family Nymphalidae. It was described by Overlaet in 1955. This butterfly is found in Sub-Saharan Africa, where it inhabits forests and woodland. Males have a wingspan of 40 to 48 millimeters, while females have a wingspan ranging from 45 to 52 millimeters. Adult Neptis laeta are active throughout the year, with their activity peaking between December and May. The larvae of this species feed on Dalbergia obovata, Dalbergia armata, Albizia adianthifolia, and species from the Acalypha genus.
