About Nephus quadrimaculatus (Herbst, 1783)

Description: Nephus quadrimaculatus can reach a length of 1.5–2 millimetres (0.059–0.079 in), and it feeds on aphids and mealybugs. Its elytra are black, with each elytron bearing two red-yellow, kidney-shaped spots. Distribution: This species is present across most of Europe, where it inhabits warm areas in lowlands and on the lower slopes of mountains. It can be found in forests and parks, growing on a variety of deciduous trees and Hedera (ivy) species.
