About Neotinea maculata (Desf.) Stearn

Neotinea maculata (Desf.) Stearn grows from round underground nodules that can reach up to 6 cm in diameter. It produces oblong leaves measuring 5 cm long, which arrange into a basal rosette. Vertical stems grow out from this rosette, and a light green bract covers one-third of each stem’s length. Its flowering season runs from April to June, when it bears an inflorescence of small flowers that range in color from white to pink.
