About Neopallasia pectinata (Pall.) Poljakov
Neopallasia is a genus of Asian flowering plants that belongs to the chamomile tribe of the daisy family. Molecular data shows Neopallasia is closely related to the genus Seriphidium, and could easily be classified as part of Seriphidium. Only one species in the Neopallasia genus is accepted: Neopallasia pectinata (Pall.) Poljakov. Neopallasia pectinata is an erect herb that grows 12 to 40 centimeters tall. It bears sessile, oblong-elliptic leaves that are pinnately divided. This species grows in desert environments, specifically in gravelly river valleys and wastelands at elevations between 1300 and 3400 meters. It is a variable species, with confirmed records across northern and western China (in the provinces of Gansu, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Tibet), as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Russia (specifically the Altay and Chita regions).
