About Nebula tophaceata (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775

Nebula tophaceata (Denis & Schiffermüller), 1775, also referred to as Coenotephria tophaceata, is a species of moth in the family Geometridae. It is found in mountain regions of central and southern Europe. The wingspan of this moth ranges from 32 to 36 mm. It produces two generations per year; adult moths are active on wing from May to July, and then again from August to September. Its larvae feed on species in the genus Galium, which includes Galium album, Galium sylvaticum, Galium lucidum, and Galium verum. There are also records of larvae feeding on Asperula species.
