About Nebria lacustris Casey, 1913

Nebria lacustris Casey, 1913, commonly called the lacustrine gazelle beetle, is a species of ground beetle that belongs to the Nebriinae subfamily. This species is distributed in southern Canada, as well as the U.S. states of Tennessee and Wisconsin. A specimen of this species has been recorded at Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Adults of Nebria lacustris measure approximately 9–12 mm (0.35–0.47 in) in length. Their bodies are black, and they have orange legs. Adult individuals are capable of moving quickly, and they are active during the night.
