Navarretia viscidula Benth. is an annual herb that is hairy and glandular. It grows a spreading, branching stem that reaches up to around 24 centimeters in height. Its leaves are either strap-shaped, or divided into narrow lobes that are either flat or needle-like. Its inflorescence is a cluster of many flowers, which is surrounded by leaf-like bracts. The flowers are reddish-purple to purple in color, and measure between 1 and 1.5 centimeters in length.
