Navarretia tagetina is a species of flowering plant in the phlox family, with common names marigold pincushionplant and marigold navarretia. It is native to the western United States, ranging from Washington to central California. In this region, it grows in wet grassland habitats, including vernal pools. This plant is a somewhat hairy annual herb that reaches a maximum height of approximately 30 centimeters. Its leaves are deeply divided into many spreading, needle-like lobes. The inflorescence forms a cluster of many flowers, which is surrounded by leaf-like bracts. The flowers are pale blue and measure about one centimeter long.
