About Naroma varipes Walker, 1865

Naroma varipes, commonly called the fig tree moth, is a moth species belonging to the subfamily Lymantriinae. Francis Walker first described this species in 1865. It is native to tropical and southern Africa. The larval host plants of Naroma varipes include three fig species: Ficus thonningii, Ficus sur, and F. natalensis. This moth has white hindwings and creamy white forewings that are marked with a row of dark dots.
