About Nama rothrockii A.Gray

Nama rothrockii is a rhizomatous perennial herb. It produces erect and spreading stems that reach up to roughly 30 centimeters in length. This species grows in colonies made up of individual clumpy plants. Its texture is hairy to bristly, glandular, and sticky. Its green leaves are lance-shaped to narrowly oval, measure 2 to 6 centimeters long, and have evenly spaced regular teeth along their edges. The inflorescence forms a somewhat spherical head of flowers, with sepals that are densely hairy. Each individual flower is funnel-shaped, around 1.5 centimeters long, and about 1 centimeter wide across its open face. Flower color can be pink, light to deep purple, or pale blue.
