About Naenia typica Linnaeus, 1758

Naenia typica (Linnaeus, 1758) has a wingspan ranging from 36 to 46 mm. Its forewings are brownish fuscous with pale veins, whitish edges on the upper stigmata, a blackish cell, and pale lines outlined with dark edges. Its hindwings are also brownish fuscous. Two named forms of this species show distinct variation: the form issyca Püng, originating from Issykkul, is redder overall and has a less crenulate termen; the form brunnea Tutt has an ochreous brown ground colour, with pale ochreous veins instead of white veins.
