Myrmecia comata is an Australian ant species belonging to the genus Myrmecia. This species is native to Australia, and its distribution is mostly concentrated around Queensland. John S. Clark first formally described this species in 1951. Myrmecia comata shares several similarities with the species Myrmecia flavicoma. Worker individuals of Myrmecia comata range from 18 to 20 millimetres in length. The species has a distinct colouration: its head, node, and postpetiole are reddish-brown, its gaster is black, and its mandibles, antennae, and legs are yellowish-brown.
