The two-banded warbler has the scientific name Myiothlypis bivittata, originally described by d'Orbigny and Lafresnaye in 1837. It is a bird species that belongs to the New World warbler family Parulidae. This species occurs naturally in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, as well as heavily degraded former forest.
