The brown-capped whitestart, also called the brown-capped redstart, has the scientific name Myioborus brunniceps. It is a bird species belonging to the family Parulidae. This species occurs in humid Andean forests and woodlands located in Bolivia and north-western Argentina. In some taxonomic treatments, the tepui whitestart is included as a subspecies of Myioborus brunniceps.
