About Murdannia spirata (L.) G.Brückn.

Murdannia spirata, commonly known as Asiatic dewflower, is a tropical perennial herb species. It is native to China, India, Southeast Asia, and the islands of the Pacific. Today it is also naturalized in Florida, United States, where it was first collected in the wild in 1965. Across its native range in Asia, it grows in forests and wet wastelands, and is often found growing along streams. In Florida, specimens have been collected from palm hummocks and marshes located in and just north of the Everglades. This species has narrowly ovate to lanceolate clasping leaves, and produces pale blue flowers.
