About Muhlenbergia uniflora (Muhl.) Fernald

Muhlenbergia uniflora (Muhl.) Fernald is a small, non-rhizomatous perennial grass. Its stems (called culms) grow in tufts and reach 2 to 4 decimeters tall. This species produces one-flowered purple spikelets arranged in open, spreading panicles. Both the glumes and lemmas are awnless, and the glumes are much shorter than the lemmas.
