About Mosannona depressa (Baill.) Chatrou
This species is scientifically named Mosannona depressa (Baill.) Chatrou. Mature individuals of this tree species generally reach heights of 6–10 meters (20–33 feet). Within its native range, local people use the tree's bark as a traditional medicine to treat gall stones. The root, when cooked with corn silk, is also reported to be used to treat gonorrhea, as well as kidney and bladder issues. More modern research has suggested that this plant may have cholesterol-lowering properties.
