About Morpho telemachus (Linnaeus, 1767)

Morpho telemachus is a large butterfly. The upperside of its forewings is silver grey and blue green, with a very wide black-brown outer edge. This black-brown outer edge is also present on the posterior (hind) wings, and can even cover almost all of the forewings and hindwings. A black band runs along half of the forewing's costal edge starting from the base. The underside of the wings is copper brown, with an arc of black, white, and orange ocelli on both the hindwings and forewings.
