About Moraea collina Thunb.
Moraea collina Thunb. is a cormous geophyte that reaches 15–50 centimetres (5.9–19.7 in) in height. It produces a simple or branched stem and a single sheath-shaped leaf, and the whole plant is not sticky to the touch. Its flowers are yellow or pale salmon pink with yellow nectar guides, and the outer tepals form a cup shape. It blooms from July to September, and its flowers open in the afternoon. This species is endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa, occurring between Baines Kloof and Caledon. It is common in Fynbos habitats, growing on lower slopes and flats.
