About Monolopia lanceolata Nutt.

Monolopia lanceolata Nutt. is an annual herb. It grows a slender, sometimes branching stem that reaches up to around 80 centimeters tall, and the plant is usually somewhat woolly in texture. Small hemispheric flower heads form in inflorescences at the tips of stem branches. The golden ray florets, which measure 1 to 2 centimeters long, have three-lobed tips, and they surround a central cluster of numerous disc florets. This species produces a rough-haired achene as its fruit, which is 2 to 4 millimeters long.
